Can't patch >.<

Well I downloaded a Pokemon Platinum patch from http://gbatemp.net/index.php?s=9655fadb9862491b180964f3edd03672&download=6216 But when I tried to apply the patch to the rom (I downloaded it from this site) with LunarIPS it said "This is not an IPS file!"
So how do I fix it??

 

LunarIPS utility is for patching games for snes or super nintendo.
If you mean by Pokemon Platinum,which is for NDS.The patch files are usually comes with the patch utility and a guide on how to patch the rom.

 

Upgrading firmware or YS Menu (depending on flashcart) are better ways to patch it
If you have an emulator there should be updates for it

 

The patch I want to apply is a hack, not a patch sorry.
And I've followed the instructions that came with the hack, but they're not working :/

Is the file itself an actual .ips?

Oh, so you want to get that Platinum patch? There is a rom download for it on a fileshare somewhere

 

Well, if it was intended for IPS patching, it would have a .ips patch. Otherwise, there is another method to do it.
