Cant get .Sav to work with Diamond on R4

Hey,

First time posting here on the forums. Thanks for the great site guys.

Recently I bought Pearl and I just finished the Elite Four however now that I recently got a R4 I downloaded Diamond to see the comparisons and more importantly just to see all the Pokemon available and what would make a good team for example.

So basically I wanted to use a .sav from gamefaqs with the completed pokedex ect with the rom but when I add the .sav and change the name of the file to the roms like I usually do for games it wont work. Like it will load the rom and wont need me to start another save game but it keeps making me start from the beggining when you get a lecture from the professor.

My chip is the latest version too btw. Any help would be much appreciated

That would be a problem with the save file itself. Whoever uploaded it probably either did something wrong or labelled it wrong.

 

That or also make sure the save type matches the region (U) (E) or (J), some people have problems if the region does not match.

Well the region seems to match, U is North America right?

If it is actually a problem with the save, is there somewhere else where I could go to get a complete Diamond (u) save for my r4?

 

Hmm...Google might help. You also might be lucky enough to find somebody who'll give you a save file if you went to a forum more focused on Pokemon...

 

^ Ive been doing a bit of searching but Ive had no luck in finding any other saves. Is there like any places else that have DS saves?

^ Yep thats correct, usually the save games are great from there but for some reason I cant get the Pokemon ones to work

 

I just gave it a shot, didnt work for me either, maybe its a tech or compat problem? no idead.

yeah either the rom or the save. Im not sure yet.

 

I can say right now with 100% certainty that it isn't the rom. The problem is most likely coming from the save itself.
