Can you get a translated game

    can you get a translated game from japan or is it im possible and will the newest dsi update make my r4i not work

    1.4 update will stop your r4i working yes, and we don't translate games.

    is it possible to bypass the update and if i format my system will it downgrade my dsi so it can work

    I dont think the update is forced, but if you've already updated its too late.

    There are a handful of flashcarts out there that have firmware fixes for the DSi 1.4 firmware though, and I believe the R4i is one of them. Not sure if you have an R4i or another clone. But the one with the 1.4 fix is at R4i.cn (if that is your flashcarts site)
