Hey everyone, I have a site but it's missing a favicon (the picture you see left from the site's address). I know a little about making graphics but I just can't make something so small. It has to be 16X16 or 32X32 (pixels) and may contain 16 colors. sites address: http://www.vermeylen.eu/jeroen Thanks in advance, jevejo.
Online maker: http://www.favicon.cc/ I *think* that all you need to do is make a 16x16 image and change the extension to .ico
I don't believe the 16 colour limit applies anymore. Make the image 64x64 then downscale it to 16x16 (though supposedly 16x16, 32x32, and 64x64 are all valid sizes). Additionally you need a special photoshop plugin to export .ico format, you can't just rename a gif. (IE throws a tantrum if you do). All other browsers will accept jpg, gif or even png favicons, but IE only supports .ico ones.
I found this website which embeded 3 different icons of different sizes into one file, I would tell you what it is but I've forgotten.
I will try with that info, but if you use gimp you don't need an extra plugin to export it to .ico. Thanks. Post Merge: [time]1264952167[/time] I tried with 64X64 and got this : please tell me what you think
