I have an R4 and I was just wondering if it can be used with a SDHC card?

If you had it, as you said, why didn't you just test it?

Perhaps (s)he didn't have a SDHC card and was considering purchasing one if it was supported?

If you value a SDHC card more than what flash cart you use then I suggest getting a CycloDS. That's what I use with my 4GB SDHC card.

Is CycloDS good? Can it run homebrew, and music, videos, pictures and stuff like that? How much is it? What website store do you recommend?

cyclods is probably the best but it costs the most. m3 real is just as good (mine came through the post today) and can both do micro sdhc cards - it's cheaper even with the rumble pak and gba loader

Of course it can run homebrew, and with that follows all the rest really.

I'm guessing the claim that the 1.12 (I think) R4 firmware would add support for SDHC cards was hot air then?

I'm not even sure it would qualify as air, as far as I know it's a hardware constraint, not a software one. I believe they're working on a new version of the cart but you'd still have to get a new cart before it would be supported.

At the moment, a card MUST be able to run homebrew in order to watch videos, music etc, most cards advertise that function, but it is actually saying their card can use MoonShell.
MoonShell is basically a multimedia launcher.

Ok, I might have a look at some online stores for CycloDS or M3 real.

what does SDHC mean? I searched google and it came up with:

Definitions of SDHC on the Web:

SDHC is an acronym for succinate dehydrogenase complex subunit C.
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SDHC (gene)

HC is shorthand for High Capacity. basically it's a standard SD memory card that can go up to 8 GB in size.

So is the most an r4 can handle at the moment 4GB sd cards?

I think normal SD cards go up to 2 GB, anything above that is HC technology.

nnooooooo the SD part is obviously because its an SD card SD standing Secure Digital and HC stands for high capacity
