Can I use Pics from google?

    This might sound strange but can I use pictures from google as my avatar pic without the consent of the creator? I won't if it is not right.

    that depends on the terms and conditions of the specific picture.

    Yeah, usually if you're not allowed to use them then right click will be disabled or it will have a copyright notice on the image or somewhere around it. That's why i try to only use open source stuff when it comes to images, or i use my own :D And if it was protected then it's usually because it's a product that someone is trying to sell :)

    Images cannot be open source, they have no source code.

    The term he is looking for is "Public Domain".

    Yeah that dude knows what i mean. Sorry, i just refer to everything thats freely distributable as open source, it's a bad habit.

    So japanese (No nudity) pics from google are technically ok?

    could be, unless the picture owner/site owner specifically says you can't use it. generally if you save the image and upload it somewhere like photobucket you'll be OK.

    thanks. Incidentally, does anyone actually use the actors and/or musician pictures?
