    Final Fantasy X
    Kingdom Hearts
    Kingdom Hearts 2
The Dot Hack games (there's like... 7 total?) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.hack#Video_games

    Suikoden III and IV
Disgaea 1 and 2 (but those are available on the handheld systems now.)

If you like watching movies, you can go for the Xenosaga series...

Grandia II and III were ok.

    No Elder Scrolls :[
But. Madden '05 is still one of my favs, Smackdown:Here Comes The Pain, Blood Omen 2:Legacy of kain, god hand, Any Devil May Cry(well 2 sorta blew), hell for the PS2 there are far too many choices to have fun. Enjoy man. And Suikoden 3 is tight, 4 is a snooze fest. Remember you can play the PSX library of games as well.

TimeSplitters Future Perfect and Black are the best fps's you can get on ps2, Dragon Quest VIII is great, I like those series much more than FF, Okami is my personal favourite.
If you fancy some fighting, Soul Calibur III and Tekken 5.

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus two instant classics that any PS2 gamer should try out at least once. But no Elder Scrolls on PS2 but the original XBOX has Morrowind.

For an interesting strategy RPG, I recommend dling an English patched NamcoXCapcom and booting it with a PS2 Mod (you DID post in a thread that you planned to mod your ps2, correct?)

Shooters: Gradius V, Silpheed, Dodonpachi if you're a masochist, Cho Aniki Seinaru Protein Denetsu if you wanna be disturbed.

RPGs: All mentioned so far, and Dragon Quest 8.

Other Stuff (nobody else will probly mention): If you plan on modding your PS2, THESE are the imports/betas you wanna try.

Mojib Ribbon/Vib ripple for rhythym games (but read the FAQ for navigating mojib ribbon) EDIT: And Bobobo Hajike Mitsuri, or just bobobo ps2. You MUST try it. And yes, Bobobo the manga/anime became a rhythym game.

Tiny Toon Adventures Defenders of the universe: Its' a beta and a cartoon game. Why am I telling you to play it? It is made by TREASURE, built on the engine of Ragukaki Showtime, aka super dodgeball meets Power Stone, It's pretty much completed, and it's a TINY (terrible pun lol) filesize to download.

Hudson Selections 3 and 4 (Bonk and Adventure Island) are some of the best retro revivals around.

Dream Mix TV world fighters plays like smash bros with Hudson, Konami and Takara (Barbie, Transformers, and Beyblade) characters. And it's pretty solid.

Gekibo 2: THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE MOST UNDERRATED GAME OF ALL TIME. You take pictures of odd things happening. It is like 2d pokemon snap, but funnier and MUCH MORE FUN. Play it for great justice. It's also one of the smallest downloadable ps2 games in existance, at only around 50 mibs.

NamCollection is a sweet 5-ps1-game comp with 5 namco ps1 games for those who can't boot ps1 games with their mod.

Panzer Dragoon (SEGA AGES) and NiGHTS are enhanced saturn ports. Enough said. Get them.

Well, There ya go! Now get to work!
