If you're looking for a battle, try Serebii.net's wifi chat - there's quite a few opponents there. I'll warn you though, a lot are what you'd call "picky". Most battle with the tier system from another site called smogon. It was a bother for me at first because the team I trained had Dialga in it, but eventually I got enough Pokemon to fight with.
