On ps3 games? I have seen converter connectors, and I heard apparently they can make it work on ps3...but will they work for ps3 games (ie god of war 3) or will they only work for the older ps1/ps2 games?
I Don't have a PS3, but i would probably assume that unless they use the 6-axis functionality that it SHOULD work. Sony is usually pretty good about backwards compatibility. I Wouldn't hold too much weight on what i think, but it's definitely worth looking up on a PS3 or Sony forum.

I have a ps3 and i confirm that u can use ps1/ps2 controllers on ps3,they work fine,vibration and everything,but of course it doesnt have sixaxis
Quickest way to check. How many USB ports does your PS3 have? (And if it's a PS3 Slim, then no it cannot play PS2 games).
The official sony forum sucks like hell, been there done that : YOUR HI-JACKING MA THREAD!!!!!!!!! ...ahem, some 60gb models run them, but otherwise most ps3's don't let ps2 games work, nor burnt (ie downloaded from the net) work. Best way to know for a newb/noob (unless you have a slim which doesn't let them work...) is to shove in a ps2 game and see what it says... I mean a ps2 controller used to control a ps3 game, and most of mine lack sixaxxis.

i use a ps2 controller on my ps3 to play god of war 3 cause i dont like the ps3 triggers,i prefer the ps2 L2/R2 BUTTONS
