Can 3DS Link to DS Lite?

    I Wanted to buy a 3DS, but my friend has a DS Lite. Is the 3DS Compatiable in wi-fi linking to the DS Lite so we could play together like battling each other in pokemon via ad-hoc wi-fi in the 3DS and DS Lite

    I have a DSi and a DS Lite and they can connect and interact with each other. As a result of that, I'm pretty sure the 3DS is going to be able to connect and play with earlier systems, as long as you don't try to use 3DS exclusive games.

    Just pop in any regular old DS game and I believe you'll be fine.

    Yes, I have a 3DS and my friend has the first DS, we played Pokemon together and they worked fine. It is only, the games that work, no pictochat in the 3DS.
