Holy crap, I LOVE Calvin and Hobbes. I love it. Bill Watterson has essentially created a comic with the imagination of a child and the maturity and intelligence of an adult, he also made it so it's artistic. From Calvin's ramblings about life to Hobbes and Hobbes responding to it Bill Waterson created more than just a comic but a sort of philosophy of life as told from a child's point of view. Even though it isn't that funny (just like Peanuts) to me, I love it more than the funnies. Also the relationship between Calvin's Mom and Dad is uncanny and extremely realistic. My mom and dad were exactly the same as them. I view Peanuts in the same vain and Calvin and Hobbes, and Calvin and Hobbes was verily influenced by Peanuts. But I see Peanuts as a story of a shy, lonely, often hated and outcasted person by the name of Charlie Brown where his output and views are given to other characters, usually Linus and Snoopy. While Calvin and Hobbes, it's always Calvin to his imaginary toy. Peanuts to me is essentially adults put into children (which is why you only see actually adults in only ONE Peanuts strip). While Calvin And Hobbes is where Calvin IS a kid, and acts like it too.
Whats ur favourite strip/ scene from Calvin and Hobbes Guys? Mine is where the aliens visit him, and calvin sells the universe for 50 extra terrestrial leaves. Also love the one with the bubble gum. ;D
