    what do you mean build my own?... I've never been good with hardware...i tend to hook things up wrong/destroy it somehow... is there a store/company that will build it based on what i want?

    probably, but you'd pay for the priviledge. It's not difficult.

    There are also tons of guides online. You just have to make sure everything you purchase is compatible with one another.

    Its really not too hard, I put graphics card, 2 harddrives, firewire, RAM and floppy drives in mine the day I got it with no experience whatsoever.
    Everything just plugs in.
    Obviously there will be more to it than that building a whole pc but like nathan drake said, theres tons of guides.

    mind linking me to a guide? telling me the best stuff for gaming and all that? i want it to have the best of everything. ::) my new limit is $3,000.00....

    and if i fail to understand the guide...could someone tell me the best company to build one for me?

    (sorry for the bump, didn't wanna make a new topic...)

    yeah you don't need that much. I don't know companies that build them, it's generally small local computer shops. If you tell me where you live I might be able to find something (country/state and nearest major town). I've walked people through the process before, its mostly dead obvious with a few little tricks to bear in mind.

    hmmm.... i live at..

    Zanesville,Ohio(USA), area code 43701, and the nearest major town...hmmm...that's a tough one...either Lancaster or Columbus...there's a few others, though not as big..like Newark, Cambridge, Coshocton...Akron, Cleveland (not about to go there...), so any of those first few locations before the ... should be fine..

    and also, i might want 2 HDD's in it...one for XP, in case Windows 7 isn't supported right away by the games..

    you can't use 8GB of ram with XP, just so you know. Only 3.5GB of the ram will be available for use. You'd need the 64 bit version of windows 7 (professional or ultimate, though ultimate doesnt have any features worth having that professional doesn't).

    I'll ask my friend in ohio if she knows any shops near you.

    well....i'll admit, i use ultimate...didn't purchase it though... ::)

    and also, i found a 64bit copy of Windows XP pro...will it support more RAM?
