    I bought a 50 spindle of Verbatim x16 DVD-R's.
I plan to use them for burning Wii and Ps2 isos.
Which would be the appropriate speed to burn at?
Some say half speed of the maximum, being x8, while others say x4.
Also, are these appropriate for my intended uses?
I only have used Verbatim DVD+R x8 to this point.

When burning isos it's best to burn at very low speeds for the best result possible.

i burn my wii iso's at 4x and everything has gone fine so far and that's on cheap media and i only burn at that speed because that's the speed still set from burning 360 games

i used to burn ps2 games at 8x and never had a problem

to be honest with verbs you could burn full speed and probably never have a single problem but just give it a go at different speeds and see what you like half the time its personal preference

Does it actually make a difference what speed you burn DVDs at? I always burn everything at max speed and I've never had a problem.

I've never had any problems burning at full speed either using DVDs or CD-Rs.

Slowest is the way to go.

maximum speed is significantly more prone to errors than the speed below it, thus I use the speed below maximum. The exception is things like console games, which are VERY likely to error if burned above 4x.

I always burn at full speed, no issues here

^Like above, it all depends really on what you're doing.
