Bootmii what is it and should i install it?

ive just modded my wii and i got the Homebrew channel. It says "install bootmii". These are my questions..
1:Should i install it and why?
2:Is it for running backups?
2:Is it for homebrew?

I used bootmii to get the homebrew channel on my wii, so I'm not to sure why you would need it.

 

1. You should install BootMii because it will help you out if your wii ever gets semi-bricked/fully bricked.
2. No, it is not for running backups, it is for unbricking your wii.
3. It is homebrew. It can be used for some, but only a few select programs.

i have written a guide for hacking wii system menu 4.2 if you have that. I have also hacked a few wiis and i am pretty experienced in almost every aspect of it. I just haven't done a few, like DOP an ios, because i never have needed to yet.
