Where would I find such a thing? Ok, my laptop has a blue ray drive... But until now-it lacks software-and the updates the current program seem to cost...and it's too big to download on my unstable net-and using my mother's is not an option Any ideas-got a blue ray movie (dead space) and I can't return it now-I thought the preloaded stuff could play
I believe that IMGBurn works to backup blu ray discs. I have never tried because the only blu-ray player I have is my PS3.
Um...img can't-tried that already I just require play back for now. (If nothing else comes by I'll see the man who sold me my laptop-sure it's blue ray compatible but can't play the movies )
bluray can use one of two codecs, one of which is h264, for which there is a decoder here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7GG6VZCN I would also recommend AVS DVD player.
I'll try that link... But what program will open it after that? Windows media player? Hrm...well, if it plays my disc I'll be happy-if not-google time for the second suggestion (any more ideas please post until I get dead space working) Post Merge: [time]1254027913[/time] Um the codec ethier doesn't work or my 2 players (power dvd and windows media player) refuse to work I may try avs if it's free-but which version to get? ...unless I ask for warez of a power dvd 9 (which I won't-not allowed) this may be my only shot. Post Merge: [time]1254064847[/time] Sorry but I'm kinda impatient-any thoughts-I tried that codec but since I got no idea which program would even let the blueray movie to start I have no clue... And that avs-the listing for 2.4 (free) doesn't mention blue ray playback?
I think either nero 8/9 played blu-ray as I remembered "pasting" in a serial number for blu-ray.But I think they are huge files.
My express essentials of nero 8 can't play them-it can burn but that's it Might need to try an old friend of mine...
You must have the "cut down" version of Nero 8,as I had the full before I deleted it.I only had it to convert avi etc to mpeg2 and stick in chapters, but it took 3 hours. It looks like that Powerdvd9 Ultra does it LOL.
