Blind soldier given revolutionary 'sight'

    technology is great!
    this soldier blinded in iraq can now see again...with his tongue!

    Its not that good, certainly no substitute for real eyes, but its a start.

    As to your last point, I already have something that does that.

    he is the first to get it obviously its going to improve as technology gets more advanced, its amazing what can be done nowadays. this is only good news and probably one of the only things i would donate towards

    first person using that method, yes. A few other people have been given artificial eyes that I believe connect to their optic nerves and give them more or less normal sight albeit not stereoscopic and in black and white/greyscale only

    so hes liek a snake he sees with his tongue

    ive watched a movie where the main character is blind and he has a brother who is very supportive
    he eventually got this video camera connected to the part of our brain associated with vision
    the doctor says we see with our brain not with our eyes
