I've been trying to figure this out for ages, and it just hit me that someone here may know. Let's say I want to move my install of CS3 to my faster HDD without the crap of reinstall. Is there some app or process that I can do this fairly trouble free? And yes, I'm XP.

I don't believe it is. Its not just a case of moving the folder, there will be hundreds of registry entries that need changing as well.

I think that you can transfer the key of Photoshop to another harddrive if you ever need to.

Not sure about other programs...you may have to re-install them.

But that's not the whole program!

My dad tried it once, it was a failure.

Well... Photoshop programs are not my way. Programming programs is my way.

I see a portable version. I'm more of a flash person myself, but exactly what benefits does the portable version give you?
