R4 is probably the best in my opinion but CycloDS is supposed to be better. There's several threads just like this.

Click the Search button at the top LEFT of the page, and click on Advanced Search. There, tick the box that says "Search in topic subjects only". Then search.

This is a thread which is similar to it. https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php/topic,4888.0.html

Also, go to http://www.gbatemp.net/ then reviews. They have a review on virtually all Slot 1 and Slot 2 carts out there so check them out.

The Cyclo is great...The R4 should be OK but you can not use sdhc card so you top out at 1GB (theoretically 2GbSD but i think no cards were released).
If you get a cyclo make sure it is black(no major defects in the black ones).

I am very interested in the acekard2 because the reviews are good and the carts are cheap (check Deal Extreme for the best i have found... if you can wait a month or more)

I ahve an R4, and a 4gb kingston works fine.. Now that bugger mentions it, I'll go and move down to 1 gb...

I have a 2GB SD card, its the 4GB ones that are rare.

I was under the impression that the R4 needed to be redesigned to work with SDHC cards and i thought SD cards only went to 1GB...sorry if i was mistaken.

you are correct that R4 does not support SDHC cards.

So there are 2&4GB ones. I guess i assumed after sdhc came out sd would be mostly abandoned...i had also read that the physical limit to sd was 2GB. If there are 4GB cards..................................................

    .....
..wait i am sorry i am an idiot...i knew sd went to 2GB but was having a brain fart...long one, only took me 2 days to clue in.
i was looking at the 2GBs so many times for sale...Doh!!!

So 4GB is possible and available if you look hard enough...Do those 4GB ones work on the Wii at all?

There are 1, 2, and 4GB non-SDHC MicroSD cards available. MicroSD wasn't abandoned after SDHC as it's more expensive and only some products can use them. You just can't barely find them anywhere, that's all but they're out there. 2GB is plenty enough though, and pretty cheap, so don't worry. 4GB should work in the Wii, if you're still unsure, look in the manual or something. And Wii's use SD cards.

so the r4 DOES support 4gb? its true? i've heard people say that 4gb micro-sd cards may work, but never heard about anyone using it. i have a 2gb card in my r4 now. that'd save me a lot of time if i had a 4 gb card in my r4......
not gonna be hard to find a 4 gb card. i messed up an r4 order for a friend, so i know wher to find most sd cards around where i work. ;D

i have an r4, which to me is the best.. dont take my advice on it though, but now, r4s are kiond of rare to find.. Dealextreme had to get rid of their r4s

That's because so many people were buying them. I heard they have another site which is affiliated with them which they link to when people want to buy an R4 or something.

I have the EZFlash V Plus and love it. $17.50 without accessories at DX. And they support the High Content cards. (I'm using an 8GB in mine, about $36 on DX as well.)
