Hi can anyone suggest a good P2P sharing client or whatever it's called. I know there's some like LimeWire but I want some opinions from other people.
    Thanks :)

limewire and kazaa, ect are absolute crap, if you value your computer DO NOT USE THEM.

Torrents are your safest bet, UTorrent is easy and simple to use, along with AVG antivirus and spyware and Peer Guardian you shouldn't find anything nasty.

If you need a step up from UTorrent try Azureus.

Also for both torrent clients you may need to foward your ports if you use a router or they are blocked by your ISP.

Shareaza and eMule are the two best P2P clients out there. I use LimeWire though, since I don't even use P2P, except for the ever-so-rare 'quickly-nab-song-x'. Whatever you do, steer clear of clients like BearShare.

Yeah I do have UTorrent on my computer, it works pretty good sometimes, but since I live in NZ, speeds are normally very slow. And isn't it useless to download music torrents?

^ im also in NZ, and I have no problem getting 100+kB/s and as long as you know where to look you can get music easy via torrent, easier to get the whole album than individual songs (which is better anyway)

Yeah I thought so, cause getting music separately would just be a pain in the neck! Oh, do you know a good site that offers music torrents?

Okay and are you sure the speeds work good in NZ? Because most of the time I'm downloading a torrent, the speeds go at least 3kb.

make sure you check for seeds/leechers, if you dont have the seeds youll get a crap speed

how can you tell if a torrent is 'legit' ? because in the past I have gotten Trojans and other nasty things from them. Although this was ussually while downloading programs or keygens.

generally torrents don't have such things in, but see how many downloads and comments it has. if theres a lot of downloads and no or very few complaints then its probably fine.

utorrent isthe best client but you need toforward your ports if you don't there is no point in having it. if you do you'll get high speeds deppendant on the seeds.
btjunkie.org is the best torrent search site as it has more then the others and people comment so you know what your getting

I usually rely heavily on user comments. Especially on mininova, there are usually tons of comments you can read to see if there's any problem with the torrent.

Other than that, I use my personally trusted uploads. Dopeman or Razor1911 for games, aXXo for movies, etc.

^ yeah you will get familliar with the 'legit' uploaders, also comments are the best way to go, and if your using AVG you shouldnt have a problem.

Okay, I'll start using torrents a bit more often and I'll go to a torrent site which has comments so I can check if it's proper. Can be closed.

You don't really need to say, "Can be closed." The thread will wither out and die soon enough.

Just one more question will having DMZ enabled have a possible detrimental effect?
