I've stumbled upon the NeoDS NeoGeo emulator for the DS. Not sure it will ever get past the version it's on (the forum for it is kind of on the dead side), but I would like to at least mess with the most up to date version. I realize compatibility may not be the best, so I'll try not to be too disappointed if suggestions don't work out. Anyways, I'm looking for good NeoGeo games. I know nothing about this system except that people seemed to really enjoy a few of the releases on it. If you know of any games worth my time (try to avoid Metal Slug), let me know below.
The most popular series on Neo Geo are the Metal Slug games 1-5 including X but about 75% of the games are 2D Fighters like King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting and a few other odd ball titles like Kabuki Klash there are a few side scrolling brawlers (think Final Fight or Streets of Rage type) a hand full of puzzle games like Bubble Bobble/Bust-A-Move and some space shooters and believe it or not sports titles too, mainly soccer and couple horse racing titles (stakes winner 1&2) I used to own a Neo so I tend gab a lot about it (sold it as the games where just too damn high) so I just emulate them now on PC with NeoRAGEX,MAME or Winkwaks Anywooo... My favorites are 2D Fighters: SVC Chaos SNK vs Capcom Last Blade 1&2, Rage of Dragons, Ninja Masters, Samurai Shodown 1,2,4 and 5, Shooters: Metal Slug 1,2(X)and 3 Shock Troopers Shock Troopers 2nd Squad Areo Fighters 1&2, Ghost Pilots Adventure? Crossed Swords
Well, gee, if you don't want metal slug then...yeah. As for puzzlers (which have yet to be mentioned) Puzzle Bobble And Panic Bomber You kiddin? It runs near ANYTHING! It's like a Gold NES Champs 1990 for DS emus! So don' worry boud it! If you wanna go back a little further into its history, the neo's earlier games were titles like "magician lord" and Cyber-Lip" (I KNOW how odd the second sounds) Magician lord is a slower-paced shooter and most refer to cyber lip as metal slug's predecessor. So try em if you've got the time.
Fine, I'll give some old school Metal Slug a go. I've just never been one for the really tough games, so I've tended to stray away from Metal Slug. If compatibility is really that great though, I'll be happy for sure. I'll make sure to take a look at all of those. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
