I know there are thousands of subcatorgries,but use your commonsense,and choose the one that closely resembles your choice.

Classical=Classical,Baroque,Medievil,Renaissance,Romantic etc
(Mozart,Beethoven,Bach etc etc)

Blues=Country Blues,Folk Blues,Delta Blues,Swamp Blues,Chicargo Blues,Big City Blues,Texas Blues,Rock Blues,British Blues etc etc
Note:Rock n Roll is under Blues
(Elvis,BB King,Robert Johnson,Buddy Guy,Son House,SRV etc etc)

Rock=Psychedelic,Punk,Trash,metal,Death Metal,Pop Rock,Grundge etc etc
(Hendrix,Metallica,Blink 182,Sum 41,Linkin Park etc etc)

Pop=You dont need examples
(Hannah Montana,Steps,Michaerl Jackson etc etc)

Rap=Same Here
(50 Cent,Xzibit,etc etc)

I choose Pop (J- one to be exact.)
I think most people will choose between Pop or Rock.

 

Actually, there is no one "BEST" Music genre as all of them can be considered the best. Depending on who is saying it.

But if it'd be personal preference I'd go with Classical, as those have stood the test of time

Yeah,its unbelieveable how many years classical mucsic has lasted.
But i hate it when its used in the modern times like ads,films and modern artists.It boils my blood,because people only like it because it was covered by some rap or pop artists or on a good advert.

Bu ti used to listen to classical so so so much.

It may not even be a real music genre, but neo-classical music, thanks to video game soundtrack composers like Final Fantasy's Nobuo Uematsu sounds great. Too bad games nowadays have shifted to rock stylized tunes.

 

I guess Electronica might go under rock.

Nobou Uematsu is a classical composer,Final Fantasy music(besides black mages) is classical music.

He was a self taught classical pianist.

Most people don't know this,but a lot of his FF material is moulded from Classical songs,Like "force your way" is taken from Bach's "Toccata and Fugue"

Also another instresting fact.the intro to one winged angel,nobou said he got that from jimi henrix's purple haze.

The intro is a interval of flantened fiths.Hendrix read about how classical composers hundreds of years ago heard that using this musical phrase,will summon the devil.So hendrix used it in purple haze.
Nobou liked this ,so he also used it for sephiroths theme.

So yeah nobou uematsu falls under classical

(sorry for rambling,i tend to do that with music)

I voted rock. Punk, Alt, and Indie Rock, to be more specific. The Killers is my favorite band. Who's ever listened to The Decemberists?
