Ive got a new PC but it has no antivirus on it. I was wondering what the best one was which is free. Ive heard that AVG is one of the best. But i was wondering if there are any better options.

    Thanks,

There's Avast which is pretty good.

So is Comodo Anti-Virus and Firewall Security.
You don't have to register it every year or so.

    Excuse me?
But your opinion is what is best. There is no best or worst (except from McAfee and Norton) it's all down to people's opinions.

What you should do is try different AV and get your own opinion on things.
I use Avast. Sometimes I forget I even have a AV because I don't need to do anything with it.

    Also 2 more things.
Wrong section. I don't think AV's are games, do you?

avg is too racist about programs not made by big companies and will constantly flag them as viruses, when they are not. Add in that resource hog bit and it's bad enough as it is.
macaffe is more like trying to prevent people from seeing your screen in a starbucks, so paying for a bunch of crap you'll probably never use is worthless.
avast, doesn't seem to be crazy like avg or norton, but at least it works fine

    AVG free.

I do like the colours of its Icon and its Interface is easy to use.It doesnt block much keygens/patches,so thats handy if you want to run hooky software. Also,it was the first free AV I used,so maybe Ill reinstall it out of posterity

    LOL
