ok so soon i will be getting enough bandwidth to play mmos so i was wondering what are the best mmo games that you can get for free. i have only ever played 1 and that was runescape also im not into fps game so i dont want any of them unless thay have a great story. finaly if its like runes of magic where you have to pay for currency in the game then im not interested. thanks in advance.

Most free to play MMORPGs do utilize a cash shop or item mall feature. You are not required to buy stuff to play, but often times to get rich & or powerful (having good weapons & armour) in the game you'd have to purchase stuff from the item mall & vend or sell it off to other players in-game.

So if you can live with having little money in game to purchase good stuff, then any Free to play MMORPG will do, unless you are also looking into the best looking or have better quest systems & such.

As for which is good, my Signature should be enough to tell you which I consider is good... Flyff, of course it's very outdated, riddled with issues & heavily focuses on level grinding but I damn love it that much. Oh, & there's Rising Force Online, Jade Dynasty, Allods Online, Luna Online, Granado Espada, Ran Online & Cabal Online but still Flyff is the one I'd choose :)

I do have to say that Allods Online is completely ruined having you to acquire these potions that get rid of some stupid sickness that permanently debuffs your equipment. The only EASY way to get it is to buy it from their store, otherwise it's a pain in the ass reagent plus another equally pain in the ass reagent to make the potion...or some bullshit like that. Good thing I quit when I was level 6...

And I thought 10 minute rezz sickness was bad...Imagine running around with a lesser version of rezz sickness that never goes away and trying to get rid of it by killing level 58 mobs and HOPING that the cure for the rezz sickness drops, all the while the rezz sickness that you have stacks over time. Yeah, that's basically what that is...a never-ending vicious circle.

I'm gonna mention again that I've been playing on a WoW classic 1.12.1 server and the best part is that we don't have a cash shop that is REQUIRED to get good gear. In fact, none of the items on there have are equipment. Thank God...most of the other competing servers are basically cash shops at the cost of more money than I'd ever pay for, but hey, let's just GIVE them t2 gear and AQ40 for $15...Totally imbalances the game, no one raids, and PvP is nothing but a one-sided honor farm.

PM me if you actually are interested and want to join the server. Again, you'll need WoW 1.12.1 client to play, which can be found on the server's site.
I'm asking you to PM me because I had an elaborate post about it on here, but it got locked for reasons unexplained.

Classic was great because it was a time where WoW was in it's prime. Protadins are basically tanking on hard mode, no taunt, and Consecrate was a Holy tree talent. I love classic because once you hit 60, you'll never have to worry about the server updating to the next expansion. With every new update, there's new bugs, fixed bugs, and bugs that you didn't know existed. WoW classic is static. Once a bug is fixed, it's fixed for good. No new patches that undo scripting and you never have to worry about leveling yet another 10 levels and getting more dataz (expansion) just to play on your favorite server. The thing that pisses me off most with the new expansions is that the older equipment is completely obsolete within moments of the release of the new expansion. Finally get your legendary Warglaives? Psh. We got better shit from a simple 2 minute quest in WotLK.

Allods online screwed non-paying players with that update not too long ago. Basically once you get to a certain level, you use a certain cash shop item to continue pumping up your stats.

You might as well just download and try all the free ones you can, it won't hurt. Plus games that others may like you may hate, and vice versa. One of my favorites until at least Level 30 was Perfect World. For 2D games there is Maple Story, can be annoying though.

There is also Ghost online i think it was called, it's just like Maple Story, There was game with Dragon i think in its name, it was a 2D hack and slash like maplestory but seemed a lot more fun.

Cabal online, 3D hack and slash

    Lunia Online

I heard Vindictus or whatever was pretty good

If you like having creatures fight with you, there is SMT: Imagine Online.

Do take note that Vindictus (AKA Mabinogi Heroes) is only available to people in North America.

Dragonica. It's like one of those arcade games but it's an mmorpg. Somehow one game can have lot of versions wich seem the same for me. i recommend playing the iahgames version.
Then there is of course FLYFF but i recommend it only if you like to grind (killing enemies for exp). Luna online is also a great mmorpg. Fiesta is another good mmorpg. There is also Iris online, but it may be hard to be able to play right now becasue of closed beta test. Allods online is also great and is alot like wow.

IAHGames is a South-East-Asian company, so be warned. There will be latency issues.

Well. At the very least games with cash shop give you the "possibility" to pay or not pay.

Kinda sad to play a p2p game for a few months and then give up >_>

    Anyway

dfo is a fun anime-style mmorpg which is 2.5D (it's kinda like MapleStory but not 2D) and it's free and made by Nexxon.

D&D online is a free game that is like the original D&D but online
