This is intended as a debate. In you guys opinion, which studio or game company produce the highest quality CGI(not in-engine cutscenes) cinematics. What i mean quality here is not actions, intensity, length or substance but realism, technical achievements like lighting, particle effect, polygon counts,etc... In other words, which studio usually make the best cinematics(cgi) at the time when (the cinematics or game is released). My vote goes to Blizzard and Blur(although Blur is not a game studio).Of course SquareEnix(more accurately their in-house CG studio-Visual Works). But I don't think Advent Children is graphically as good as the (WoW CG,FF XIII CG,and KOTOR:The Old Republic CG)...if you look closely...
generally CGI is not produced by the games companies, but farmed out to third parties, such as Industrial Light and Magic, who specialise in CGI.
i know but some companies like Blizzard and Square Enix have their own internal CGI team. Due to Blizzard being near to Holywood, they might have an edge over Square.(judging from recent Cg trailers from both)
Who made resident evil degeneration? I always thought it was a part of sony-and would explain why the way it progresses was simerlar to the final fantasy movies. Post Merge: [time]1263128350[/time] Or should I say the way it was animated.
Id have to go with Square. because there transitions from a cutscene to actual gameplay can be almost seamless. that goes to the quality of cgi developers. theyd have to be good.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvrG66e_ugM Awesome motion capture, entertaining and easy on the eyes. I have no clue who does it, nor do I care. This is my favorite CGI in any game.
