    Hey,
I charged my ds lite, and It was completely full.
Then I played. And after 5 hours or something, It shows a red light!
Is that normal? Cause I don't think so....
    Thanks in Advance!

    It's about normal.

5-8 hours on the highest brightness setting.

Battery life starts to decrease after 500 charges. If you have 5 hours on lowest brightness settings, you may want to consider on buying a new battery.

    But it's the lowest brightness.....

How old is the DS (and battery).
Some flashcarts increase power draw and cause the battery to drain faster than if not using them. (Most tests only show about half an hour though).

Are you sure you had it set to lowest brightness all the time? Because five hours at full brightness is usual, and if your red light turned on at five hours that means it would have lasted another two hours.

My ds is about 16 months old. So should I take me R4 card out my ds or something when I'm not playing?

That does not matter, if you have your R4 in.

    I should contact Nintendo.

Also, did you got your DS from someone else (online)?

That won't matter if your DS is turned off. :p

Rechargeable batteries lose about 1% of their charge every day.

You're just better off getting a new battery in my opinion.

Do you leave it plugged in all the time? That drains a battery's life significantly.

@Yoshi: Nop, bought it new at a toystore.
@Ace: No, when I put it in, I clock 3 hours from that time. Then after 3 hours, when the light is off, I put it on and I play until it's completely empty. (And it it's almost empty, I leave it on until it's off.) Then I recharge it completely again.

A new battery would be needed in your case.

And your warranty is probably up too since it's over a year 90 days or 180 if you registered it. :\
