Not that I need to yet, but I understand you can back up the entire PS3 system, my question is do you have to back up everything or can you choose what to back up like downloadable content?
You can back up; Saves(trophies too) All media files Paid themes, free themes with a support of USB. However, PS3 lets you to use GameShare, which means if you log-in with the same PSN acc in a diffrent Ps3, you can re-download all your content, including paid ones.
I will ask this anyway....if you re-download paid content I will assume if it in your PSN acc you won't have to pay it again?
well fyi, the PS3 doesnt allow you to choose which item to backup and whats not, when you run the backup tools, it backup the following (Installed Game and DLC, Video, Music and Save Game) however it doesnt backup user account, PSN info, and trophy (trophy is backup in Sony's server linked to your PSN account). but i only have done backup but i never restore.... all those info is common answer of what i get when i ask couple of months ago.
Well I guess I will be getting another hard drive to back up my stuff hate to loose anything I've paid to download.
you dont loss anything you have paid or downloaded, it is save in your PSN download history, just check your download history to redownload them.
