The scanning is too slow! And we have to update after a few weeks, Oh come on! This is ''lame''. I pity the people who install it...They always show ''(amount of days left) until you are not protected" every time you log in!!!!!!
I got one from a friend (pirate ) which is patched to work until 2018. Your one might be ethier a trial of the full version or the free one...which I never seen before as before I went from free to full I never had that. But you need to update it anyway constantly to stop any risk of viruses-and the slower it goes the better-finds more viruses that way. And dude..consider less topics-I gave you a suggest in your 13 things when your bored
AVG is one of the best free antivirus packages. I know a business that uses it exclusively. Also if you think the scanning is slow, try Avast!, which completely redefines the word 'slow'. Antivirus packages should be updated at least once a day, not every few weeks. Mine updates every 2 hours.
Whenever I want to update my AVG it keeps telling me the update failed, So I visited the main site : www.avg.com, but when I went to the site, It keepssss telling me PAGE LOAD ERROR,,arghh,, so I never update my AVG, but so far, still can scan my comp, but, not updated yet
Well the first time, it kinda loaded for 2 secs then suddenly it went failed..--a so I tried to update from the site, but it keeps telling me PAGE LOAD ERROR, in other way I can opened another site,==a how you fixed it?
My guess is your net is cutting off mid transfer, and because the update is getting bigger (because it's been awhile...) it's only gonna get worse. As for the web site...that is weird...
Have you tried using the FREE Edition, it doesn't advertise or show how many days you have left, unless your massively out of date. Plus the scanning goes as quick as your computer. If your running below like what is it. 1.2GHz your gunna be experiencing problems. A recommended alternative is NOD32, if you have money to pay for it, 30 a year I think? It'll pretty much deal with every issue you got. But I've been using AVG 7.0 with my 500mhz comp upstairs and it has no problems. The latest one is a powerhog due to all new features and what not... But like I said before, it scans as quick as your computer can go so if it's lackin, chances are your not meeting the requirements or you have something hogging up all your CPU.
be patient......better to scan than have a virus right???? XD Avast! is a really good virus scanner for Mac, Linux, AND windows.
Errr,, my version is 8.5.285, anyone has an idea, what does it mean? When I just fixed my computer, I just get this antivirus..so I have no idea...
that's just the release number of the software. they just keep renaming the versions as they go along......so the next version would be 8.5.286, and then 8.5.287, and then etc....
If you really hate the slow scanning, just set the automatic scan to start at 3AM or something, that way it scans while you sleep, and will most likely be done when you wake up
But you would need your pc on in order to do that... I wish I could-but the dam thing tends to lag and overheat-dusty room might have clogged my laptop's vents or something
AVG can be set to switch off the pc after the scan has finished-so do that before you go to your bed and review the results the next time you use your pc. If you read some reviews youll see Avira free and KIS paid for in the top3 of their categories.
But still, whenever I try to update my AVG, it says : UPDATE FAILED, then I go to the main site, and I can't access its main site..--a PAGE LOAD ERROR , PAGE LOAD ERROR,, but I can open my facebook and another site,..
can you access the norton and mcafee websites? If not, you may have some kind of malware preventing you accessing them.
I did some research and I know I am fairly new to this form but... There website states if you get the update failed try turning off you firewall and seeing if that fixes the issue. If your having issues with there website they stated that a firewall could be possible making you have that issue as well. If not try removing AVG and then reinstall and earlier version and trying the updates.
