I hope this is the right place to post this. I got Audiosurf, and I needed music so I plugged in my iPod and transferred all of my mp3s over. iPods call music weird names like DWRT, LPGC, etc. So it's pretty hard to pick a song. The real name of the song is still in the mp3 info, is there a way to quickly change them from the iPod name to the real name?
Edit: Nevermind I figured it out.

Once you have transferred it to the iPod, and retrieved it back (in the hidden folder in the removable drive etc.), the firmware automatically renames the filename to 4 letters, following a abbreviation pattern I believe. The ID tags still remain intact yes. Audiosurf should pick the real name of the song through it's tags. Don't remember though.

It didn't detect the real name. But I found a program to change the file name to the real name of a lot of songs at once.

yes, that is one reason I hate itunes, it takes over your library and renders the files useless outside of itunes by renaming all the files and folders.

Weird... My iTunes doesn't do that, it just randomly converts songs I try to play if they aren't mp3 or .m4a... I don't really use it for music playback, though, just to convert music so my DSi can play it. *kicks the stupid thing for not playing .mp3's* :D
