Astro Boy copyright?

    Is it outdated? Because I would like to use that character.

    almost definitely not. Copyright persists for 75 years from the death of the creator (unless it gets renewed).

    Also, there is a new Astro Boy game coming to DS, so the copyright is alive and well and being used.

    A new CGI Movie is even in the works, plus just like Doraemon, Astroboy or Atom in Japan-o land has attained immortal status which means their copyrights are kept under lock & key & most likely be renewed when the copyright expires.

    Thanks it is just they said pre-1953 movies are in the public domain.
