Yes, those flash carts that are currently in use on the 3DS, can only run NDS roms. That includes the upcoming Ace3DS Pro cart. It's also an NDS rom player. So far none able to run 3DS roms. We'll post info if a genuine 3DS rom player comes around. Till then, don't trust any claim about any cart that says it runs 3DS roms. There isn't any 3DS PC emulator either.
No, doesn't matter if it's 2D or 3D kind of games. So long it's game specifically for 3DS console, it will not run on any current existing carts. Period. Maybe in future there will be one coming around the next bend. Till then, there's no use speculating about "what if".
No problem. We all hope to see a 3DS flash cart comes around some day. Buying original games all the time, is like murdering your wallet.
