Question says it all. My friend and I (we both live in different states) were wondering if there was an emulator that could allow both of us to play together.

    No it can't be done.
Although with no$gba, you can play Gba games multiplayer by using the link feature (never try it though).

For DS, it can't be done.

The previous version of no$gba has been claimed to have a online support,
I haven't tested it yet, so I'm not sure if its working or not.
    (I'm sure it won't XD)

Check the homepage of no$gba for more information.

^They don't actually work, they're purely for theoretical use.

For things like NES & SNES emulators, most NES emulators have online multiplayer support relying on the Kailera client. For SNES emulators, older versions of ZSNES do have online multiplayer support & SNES9x has one even on the latest version.

As for Gameboy games, TGB Dual & BGB "supposedly" supports the link cable function, I just don't know if this works on a multiplayer scale though.

    For the GBA, THere's VBA-Link:

Again, not sure if it works as an online multi player.

For the record, it does work using Hamachi. It's horrifically slow in my experience, though.
