Are Pokemon Diamond Pearl and Platinum all same?

I was looking and expeiramenting, and Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum all look related. Can anyone tell me if they're completly new adventures or just new pokemon?

Basically, like pokemon yellow, platinum is just an expansion of the first 2.

 

The battles are faster though,compared to Diamond and Pearl

 

Its what you find. They are somewhat the same, platinum haves more Pokémon and other things, Diamond and Pearl are the same.

plus it has a battle frontier

By the way: They aren't the same, there's extra things, a different story and such, however they are quite similar.
