Any way to mute NDS speakers?

ok I use headphones with my DS and I was wondering if there's any way to mute the speakers or to only allow sound through headphones

The reason I ask is this: say I'm using it in a quiet place with my headphones plugged in and the headphones accidentally come out. Then the sound would just start blasting and I'm scrambling to turn the volume down or plug the headphones back in

So is there any way to do this?

I'm using original DS by the way

I do not believe it's possible.

    Use some super glue? :)

or you could open the ds and disconnect the speaker wires...but that's too risky taking it apart.

Ya, I guess if you are good with mods and electronics you could put a switch in series with the DS speakers and be able to switch them on/off.

Tape the headphones, tape over the speakers, or break your speakers. You could also just stop yankin' out your headphones(talk about gettin into the game).

I think a circuit board dip switch would be good. Maybe the two switch style, one for the left speaker and one for the right speaker

Will do! I'll look around for a run-down ds phat or ask friends if they have an old one that i can experiment on....like my ps2 failed mod attempt...

But it should be fairly straightforward once i get the top part disassembled.

There's not much to the top half of a ds, it's just the screen, the speakers, and a wire going to the bottom half.

Does the DS have stereo speakers, or is it just two mono speakers?

    Stereo, unless I'm mistaken.

Perhaps....i never have noticed anything special about the original ds speakers.

i'm trying not to take apart my ds phat....

Or instead of doing all that, just try not to pull the headphones out?

I feel like I already addressed this... It's only one page and you guys couldn't read through?
BTW: ace1o1, could use commas, they're very useful.

but then I'd have to break my habit of swinging the DS everywhere when I get mad
so that's just... not an option
