any help with r4 and dsi please

hi there,
my son has been using his r4 in his ds up to now with no problem.i have bought him a dsi and now the r4 is not recognized.do i have to update something or is it being blocked somehow.
any help would be great,

I'm not completely sure on my answer, but I have read, that sometimes it saves some sort of file on the DS..

And then if you take it out and try to put it in another DS or DSi, it wont work anymore, and you have to buy a new one.


Again, I am not completely sure.

 

If you have a regular R4, it will be blocked from running on the DSi by default. If you have an R4i, a recent DSi firmware update has also blocked flashcarts.

if i buy an r4i will it then work.the firmware version is 1.2e on his dsi ?

 

Well if you look at the top post, it says that the new firmware update has blocked it off as well.. For now, till someone bypasses it.

So, if you haven't updated the DSi, you should be fine.

 

yes all previous firmware versions previous to 1.4 should play if you use the correct card and software that came with the card do not update your dsi unles you have wads of money for the games or a lovely ds lite
