no, its overpriced, and alienwares tend to be prone to overheating.

What would be a good gaming computer to buy and that I can pay for monthly? I don't plan on building one though.

I'm not sure about that, your best option would be to find out if theres a local computer store near you that is willing to build one to your specifications. (People here can help you organise the specs). I am not a fan of prebuilts at all, the manufacturers always seem to cut corners which causes major problems later, or they overcharge you for what you get (dell and alienware are both major culprits here). Building a gaming PC is a different process to building a generic PC; both in the hardware used and the way the software is configured. Prebuilt manufacturers do not take this into account; so the result is a more powerful than average, but still generic, PC, that does not run games as well as it could, or should.

If I purchased the parts off newegg would there be a monthly payment plan?
Edit: Also if I have a video card with 230MB of video ram and I need 256, will I be able to run it?

ive never seen a video card with 230MB ram, it has to be a power of two (eg. 128 or 256). If your card is slightly below the minimum spec then you may or may not be able to play that game.

I imagine newegg would have a payment plan if you spend over a certain amount. One of my friends is working out a spec for you now; It should ready later today (my time).

thats the same question i asked about the decreasing ram...

and to butt in the topic, what is a alienware?

alienware are a company that manufacture very expensive, supposedly high performance gaming computers.

Additionally, Damanali, you asked about decreasing system ram, which was decreased because of your onboard video card taking some. This is talking about dedicated video ram on a dedicated graphics card. It is not available for other uses.

I'm curious about something else. I found a list posted by Manny2260 that I'm thinking of using for my new computer but I want to get a good sound card that's within a good price range. Though, I'm not entirely sure what makes a sound card better than most and I don't know which manufacturer is best.

I have an Asus Xonar D2/PM. It's pretty awesome. Stay away from newer creative stuff (i.e post audigy 2).

Woah, that is one overpriced unit! Like, really overpriced. And you're not even getting a screen.

I'm planning on either buying one or using my current screen. Yeah, I might get the Asus Xonar D2/Pm since it cost like 160$? Also, what's a good case that has space so I can change the GFX cards, GPUs, etc later and is your friend done with the specs? Sorry with all the questions.
