    Are aliens visiting us now?

There is some pretty convincing testimony from people like Edgar Mitchell and John Lear.

    See:

Are these people crackpots after a quick buck or is this all real?
What are the implications for our society if alien visitation is disclosed without doubt?

EDIT: Actually after seeing a bit more I think John Lear is a crackpot!

its possible, our solar system is not that old compared to others and there is like billions of solar systems and that's only in our galaxy and our galaxy is not that old compared to others and we have found the starting blocks of life in meteorites that have hit the earth so has to be life on another planet and if there is one that had life longer then us or more intelligent life it is entirely possible that one may have made long distance space travel possible.

but i don't blame them if they haven't made contact yet. we are still primitive as we still war we still believe in an imaginary creature that apparently made the universe,
and if we war between our own countries so as a world we are not ready to move on, as we can't speak as one voice.

I'm actually having tea right now with my buddy Xhddu from the dark side of the moon.

We really can't tell what our "first contact" will be like, but I'm really hoping it's Star Treky, with the more advanced race helping us out instead of trying to wipe us all out.

If the universe is infinite, then can we truly be the only living beings in this infinite space? Something as big as infinity must have other infinitely life forms (because it's infinite, right?).

There's life out there, remember that Martian rock (or was it that Meteorite that was found at the Arctic?) that had fossilized bacterium on it?

There should be life out there somewhere. How advanced they are from us, is what's intriguing & scary at the same time.

Yeah I've seen this "Size Argument" theory years ago from an intro of a Simpsons episode. In it, Homer stares up into the heavens, then the camera zooms out into the universe, later returning to Homer.

So with this theory, God maybe ourselves as well.

Shoot I've gone off topic, well you get what I'm saying right?

    1) It's not infinite, though it is still expanding rather quickly.
    2) We're not.

There's other lifeforms out there. There was recently a 20/20 article on aliens and people who believe in them, there was a community group who talk about their experiences. A Christian group mostly. Haha Seph.

1-i think you're only referring to our galaxy or milkyway or whatever the technical term is.

space is infinite and then there's infinity into infinity, such as enterring black holes.
we know black holes will destroy, etc.... but what if something was able to go in. what will we find in there.

no he is correct its not infinate but it seems that way as it expands faster then we could ever explore or see it.

Infinity caused by finite expansion, that's logical in a sense, let me explain.

When we were very little, counting to ten was hard right? Then as we grew up & studied in school we get introduced to bigger & bigger numbers, first a hundred, then a thousand, then a million & so on. We can write down a number such as 1,234,567,890,987,654,321,234,567,890,987,654,321,546 but it's very hard to comprehend how big that number is. That's kinda how it is with the universe, it is finite yet appears infinite because it is expanding.

I believe expansion relates to the matter in the universe, which appears to be accelerating away in all directions. Whether the matter is actually accelerating away is still subject to debate, although the majority think it is true. The majority have been wrong before however!

Whether matter can be classed as the edge of the universe is a different matter. The universe has been described as a 4 dimensional curve so if you continued to travel in what appears to be a straight line you will never actually reach a boundary. So the Universe is both finite and infinite at the same time. This is even stranger to comprehend than huge numbers!

Would the expansion of the universe pertain to lightspeed in anyway?

Nope. In fact, because of the size, it's expanding exponentially (eh, quadratically, at least) and not at a fixed rate, like the speed of light or anything like that.

There is no such things as 'infinite'. The base word is finite, meaning a set value.

Unless of course the universe's dimensions are spherical, but we don't perceive that particular dimension.
The it would be infinite in the sense that you could run around the globe infinitely. But there is a set circumference from A to A, and only so much matter and energy can be compressed into that path.

Either way, it would take even relatively nearby alien vessels millions of years to reach earth at the speed of light.
Unless they've figured out how to make wormholes or something.

I agree with your statement however there are other reasons they haven't made contact
    1) They may not be as advanced as we think (incapable of interstellar travel like we are)
    2) All the crazies and conspiracy nuts may be right and governments may be covering it up possibly due to the fact that newer generations would think of themselves as Earthlings rather than Americans, Britons etc and no government/military body would like that very much

We have theoretically cracked warp speed travel. Never been physically tried though, and I'm not sure if the technology to do it exists in a feasible state yet.
