aircrack

    I'm hoping someone out there knows how to use this in windows, because I do, but I'm just stuck on one small thing...
    In command prompt, what is the input device for packet injection...
    i.e. the line of coding I used... Location>aireplay-ng -1 0 -a 00-00-00-00-00-00 -h 00-00-00-00-00-00 wlan0
    The mac addresses are obviously fake, but It keeps telling me Error opening adapter wlan0 with winpcap, and google among other sites have failed me, so Im wondering if there are any command prompt gurus out there that can help

    You cannot use packet injection on the windows platform, it is not supported.

    yes, because you are trying to do something that isn't possible in windows. If you were using linux it would work.

    damn, I was tryin to prove someone in my class (we're learning about cracking wireless signals) that you can use packet injection in windows....

    you too? :) I managed to crack WPA in less time than it took to crack WEP :p (mainly because of the phenomenal amount of packets I had to capture before I could crack WEP, not to mention that WPA was a dictionary attack against the key, where as WEP I actually broke the encryption)

    yeah, apparently not only can I not use packet injection, I cant crack a 128 WEP encryption with 500,000 GOD DAMN PACKETS!

    thats because it's not packets you need, you need IVs, and they are not as frequent as packets. I had somewhere near 2 million packets to get sufficient IVs to break it.

    What you are after is two identical IVs. Once you have them, you've cracked it. Problem is theres no way of knowing how many IVs you'll need before a duplicate comes up.

    yes, it's classed as unauthorised access to a computer system, which in itself is quite serious, but there are other charges they can bring alongside that, such as attempt to obtain data/cause damage or intent to do so.
