    1000 is safest

2000 is only good if it's 5.03 in firmware-as there is a risk of being like a...

3000 only has temp hacks, if the firmware is 5.03 it can play iso games...it just needs some patients.

    Go-NO GO!!!

If you can play test a psp 2000, and see if a pandora makes the system light up, then I'd get that.

Trust me-a second hand one which you can hold in your hands is wise.

A 2000 is best function wise, but it's like a landmine, and while I got lucky...I also got the worse conditioned one because it belonged to a younger kid judging from the damage it had.

Not that i cared-I changed the shell of it, now it's custom :)

    Call me noob,
I'm don't know anything about PSP.

    Are that 1000, 2000, 3000 a version?
    or something else?

    I had a 2000 before and it's quite good. :)
I got the already hacked one, so these things depends on the shop you buy it. ::)

Yup, it's the version of a PSP.
Better with each version but harder to hack with increased version too.

    Mega-look on ebay

Look for a psp 2000 that already has cfw-or custom firmware.

Easiest solution and best model :)

    Use these terms on ebay.

    "psp 2000+console"

And when looking at the descriptions, look for "custom firmware" or something about "GEN" firmware or "5.00m33" or even "m33" mentioned.

About 150-200 AUD...you can look for deals with games if you want to save downloads :)

Remember-if it doesn't list, ask the seller what firmware it has, if they don't know, look else where.

    Oh...

    I'm lost here..

I have some problem with e-bay.
    so.. let's drop that one.

What should I ask the shop keeper?

Is it already hacked ? Or what CFW that it has.
Something along those questions I think, if the ShopKeeper is quite know about gaming and such, it could be a big help

Okay, do I need to ask that shopkeeper..

"Is it already hacked or CFW?"

Which version do I need to buy?

The PSP version ? I think 2000 is pretty good, it already has some Firmware available I think.
Since the stores here sells an already hacked PSP makes it easy, but yes you may need to ask about those.

Unless you want to keep playing using UMD's

    meganova Well-Known Member

    Oh.. no UMD!!

so if the PSP has been CFW, it didn't use UMD?

    It still can.

So what is the issue with ebay exactly?

...and I wouldn't go around asking if it's hacked, most shop keepers wouldn't know, and down here...they aren't allowed to sell them hacked.

    well..
most of the shopkeeper here sell 'hacked' things...

I will go survey around the stores tomorrow.

It still used it, but you can alos play using the ISO of the PSP if you have a CFW.
And you can get ISO for free from the net ::)

The "bairns" PSP is a 2003 and behind the battery was 5B-so that was moddable. You basically need a psp/charger/memory stick and preferably a Tool battery if you have to mod it.I wouldnt buy one with games/discs as that bumps up the price.

If you are definitely going to buy an unmodded SLIM hackable one,I suggest you get the new style white Tool battery(which you can use as a normal battery) AND a small adaptor that allows you to insert a MicroSD card innit-as they are cheaper than Pro duo sticks.

A 2003 is just a region'd psp, the 3 just means it belongs to that region, there is hackable 2006 psp's I heard before I got my model (also a 2003)

I would aim for pre-hacked ones, the sellers on ebay list these because it's one of the few places one can sell a hacked psp-the other's would be trashed :(

I would not buy a pre hacked one, some of those are pretty messed up. Also, on the region thing, 2001 is American PSP 2000, N1000 is Jap PSPGo, PSP3004 is Euro PSP 3000 I think. Once CFW is loaded on there, there is no region lock.

I would get an unmodded one(as itll be cheaper) and a Tool battery.

I see some of those as cheaper.

...If I was with mega, I'd personally inspect those bought from ebay since I know how they work :)

Now that I look back, I would have gotten a brand new PSP Phat and waited for the 5.03 OFW, because I didn't want to waste a perfectly good battery. Then someone figured out a different way to hardmod it that is reversable...

Have you guys seen the new Tool battery-its neat!

I wont use it as a normal battery-but its great because it fits nicely into the PSP slim-no chance of it falling out half-way through a Flash...
