After downloading from Romulation, my internet starts acting funky?

My internet works for a few minutes but even when it works, it is pretty slow. But for some reason, the internet on my other laptop is working just fine. Both are wireless. For some reason this started happening when i started downloading from romulation again. I downloaded the Pokemon HEART GOLD rom from Romulation and my internet was fine. The past few days though including today, is going very bad though. The internet is going on and off every minute. I use to have this problem back when i used Romulation, but i stopped playing roms for a while, then my internet was all good again. After downloading from this site again though, my internet is acting funky. Could it be that this site has a virus, or am I just too skeptical about this. Right now, im using my neighbors internet and it is working just fine on this laptop. What is wrong here!!!

There are no viruses on this site. If you're having no problems with your neighbours wireless (which i hope that you're using with their permission) then that suggests that yours is not configured properly.
The next time your Internet gets funky, wack-out and bust-a-move; maybe you'll enjoy yourself.

    Enjoy your laggy online games.

    Natewlie A bag of tricks

Wireless router =/= Wireless internet fyi.

Sadly, I have both, the Wireless router is great and I haven't had a problem with speeds/connection ever. Wireless internet is a different story, you have to get a technician to open up the NAT settings and it lags infrequently, although I play online games a lot and haven't had that much lag if at all.

Although I expect a good wireless internet connection if I pay god damn 80 dollars a month for it.

Nothing to do with no$gba, or any of your downloads (I highly doubt it's the downloads). It's probably your neighbor's wireless (assuming), passing through walls isn't a router's strong point.

When on wireless broadband, yes it's crap as hell, but on a wireless router connected to a modem, it's ALMOST as good as a direct connection.

I say almost because of a few times when the router has cut out the signal for a split second, which affected my avp ranks :(

Still it does the job overall.

I got one possibility...what is your isp?

If your in Australia and it's one of those cheap ass data plans then prehaps your burning the net down and it's been capped (happens to my mother's after we use the 20gb limit-optus).

The wireless bounces of walls I think, rather than pass through them.

Wireless can be affected in many ways:

-Metallic Surfaces like doors, windows, panels and even paint with metallic pigments reflect most of the wireless signal.
-Dense surfaces like concrete and stone walls absorb most of the wireless signal.
-Bodies with great concentration of liquid like aquariums, swimming pools, water tanks and even much people passing in the way of the signal absorbs most of the wireless signal.
-Other equipment that transmits signals in the same frequency of the router like Microwave ovens, wireless phones, bluetooth transmitters and so on cause interference in the wireless signal.
-Two devices using the same IP address and receiving signals from the wireless router.
-Two routers transmitting signal in the same channel on the same area.
-A lot of data being transmitted/received by one of the devices using the wireless network.

IP address is irrelevant, that would cause the same issues on a wired network.

other devices on the same frequency causes issues as well, just about everything uses 2.4Ghz. Cordless phones, microwave ovens and even bluetooth interferes with wireless networks. (bluetooth is particularly bad, as it hops over the entire spectrum, whereas a microwave oven is a lot of power on a relatively narrow band within the wifi spectrum.)

Note that most of those things mentioned in the previous post do not apply to mobile internet, which uses the cellular phone networks.

On of the most alarming issues of mobile network(at least here) is the lack of speed and coverage.
