I found something interesting on /b/ today.
    here it is:

Pay attention /b/ this is FUCKED

The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement secret proposal was recently leaked and the details makes you wanna yell "FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

If the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement treaty is approved here's what'll happen

Top level record label companies and hollywood studios are pushing for this treaty to go forward who want to so called "prevent illegal downloading and filesharing" by opting in the 3 strikes rule where if you're ACCUSED (not proven accused) 3 times of downloading unauthorized material YOU'LL GET YOUR INTERNET CUT FOR GOOD

draft proposal would require ISPs to police user-generated content, to cut off Internet access for copyright violators, and to remove content that is accused of copyright violation without any proof of actual violation. The chapter also completely prohibits DRM workarounds, even for archiving or retrieving one’s own work. … As it stands, the leaks suggest Internet users around the world are headed for a new regime of IP enforcement — a culture of invasive searches, minimal privacy, guilt until innocence is proven, and measures that would kill our normative behaviors of file-sharing, free software, media downloading, creative remixing, and even certain civil liberties.”

They also want ISP's to police ALL USER GENERATED CONTENT, yes that included stuff uploaded to EVERYTHING will have to be legally liable to the ISP's that they'll have to block sites like Youtube, Twitter, Flickr, Blogger ANYTHING

    THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT

And yes these are GLOBAL LAWS they are trying to push so NO ONE IS IMMUNE FOR IT, we gotta stop these fucktards

NO ONE FUCKS WITH THE INTERNET@!!!@!#!#@!#

What are your thoughts on this romU?

it cant be enforced globally. If its even possible to police that amount of data, which I seriously doubt. This is just politicians coming up with completly impractical solutions to non existant problems as usual.

How long have you been using the internet? You believe anything posted on 4chan without even as much as a single cite, not even a crappy satire/spoof news place like the Onion?

Numbers don't make it ligit, time will tell if it's real.

And please don't copy and paste without editing out the swears, unless you use a direct link and it's a proper news site.

Oh, it's very real, been around in the debates here in Sweden for over a year, crazy how media companies and lobbyists can buy complete law packages from governments like that.

Seems that these debates were supposed to be over in 2007, and it's now almost 2010. I don't think anything concrete is ever going to come out of this.

If anything, it seems to me like another Berne Convention, and look how well that did to stop copyright infringement?

wait.... you are guilty without being proven guilty?

i think a class action lawsue would be needed to fight this stupid... i dont know what to call it.

also no law can touch the internet.

bleck.....i've heard of the FCC trying to cap downloads of 50 gb a month......but this a load of garbage...

i mean.....they would need SO many people and computers to securly monitor all of the downloading AND uploading.........that's a lot of money that the world doesn't need to spend........plus i don't wanna pay for a game and then find out that it's a piece of junk!!!

i dislike politicians..........especially in the US.........:(

that sounds like a socialist kind of reform.....just like shobama's healthcare...i don't like socialism or any type of main central control having all of the power to authorize what they find suitable and then feeding their citizens a load of it................(no offense to those socialists out there.....just my opinion!!)

    Natewlie A bag of tricks

    Your intelligence is showing.

As much as I disagree with the internet being supervised (peerguardian GET), his reform is not socialistic. By your logic any country with a government supplied healthcare, is a socialist country. I was not aware that Canada was a socialist country, whoa. In fact, healthcare is one of the reasons to be anywhere BUT the US.

As biased as Michael Moore's film he made covering the American Heal Care system, there's truth to it. A lot of truth.

    yep......not socialistic......i don't know.......just don't like control over what i can and can't do on the internet!!XD i'm just ranting......needed to get it out on something i guess!!XD

yeah.....anything owned or ran by any government is a socialistic program or whatever.......

yeah......healthcare in the US sucks i know........and michael moore does make some good points in sicko....though i'm not fond of him too much........:(
