I was wondering if there are Acekard clones because the latest firmware (AKAIO 1.6 RC2) detects if you're using a clone. Not sure if it does detect it, I got that from here: http://normmatt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=359 I'm going to buy one soon, so I'd like to know Thanks in advance.
They exist. One of the R4-SDHC or R4i-SDHC cards are an Acekard clone. I can't remember exactly which one. There are also fake acekards out there. AKAIO 1.5 and beyond have had anti-clone checks in it, I believe. TTDS firmware also had anti-clone checks, which would actually brick your fake TTDS (unless you fixed it with a special unbricker program for it). I purchased mine from www.realhotstuff.com They sell real ones.
Oh ok, but is there any way to see the differences from the fake/real Acekard? (like R4 clones) Thanks. EDIT: Nevermind, I have found a site that could help me. http://www.acekard.com/news.php
To make sure you don't get a clone, buy one from one of the retailers on the acekard site, then you shouldn't have to worry
