Acekard 2i

I was just wondering which firmware to use for the Acekard 2i to use. I'm thinking of purchasing one pretty soon. And I was wondering if I have a patched game, would the firmware affect the patch on it. Like I have the Pokemon HG/SS games patched with Rudolph's Universal patch on them.

 

You should use AKAIO. You won't need the patch for the Pokemon games.

It's probably the greatest flashcart that I have ever used.
My family has 3 of them. One for each of the oldest 3 (me being the oldest). My sister and other brother play on one of the cards, but not mine. @_@ They're not allowed to touch my DSi XL. XD

 

Does it come with a usb reader or do I need to purchase one?

 

Yes it comes with one.

 

Mine didn't come with one when I ordered from ShopTemp. I would get one just in case.

Mostly flashcards come with a reader...that's why I said that.

 

I know, but I have ordered from them and it didn't come with squat... =\
Luckily I knew what I was doing and have a Micro SD card reader.

I still have my USB reader from my M3 Real, but, like you said it's better to have two in case one decides to fail.

 

The AceKard never comes with a card reader UNLESS the company you purchase from adds one for no extra cost (which hardly ever happens). I would definitely get one or you will most likely end up disappointed.

 

I did I ordered one. I can't wait to have my new flashcart. I can't update my M3 Real with the two latest system files. Each one has frozen my DS, when I tried to look at my games list.

 

I don't mean to double post but there's no sense in creating a new topic really. Anyway, I was wondering do I have to anything special to the Acekard 2i. I have a DS Lite not a DSi so do I have to put the DSi firmware as well on my micro sd card as well? If not, I know I need the AKAIO firmware...

I have 2 of my own, a micro sd to sd adapters (I can plug into my computer)

 

Mine says "The device in DRIVE LETTER is not formatted. Do you want to do it now?". The other one doesn't.

But on topic:

No you just put the AKAIO on it and it is OK.
DSi firmware is not needed as it is the firmware of the DSi and the acekard has no idea on what to do with it.

 

Gotcha. I wasn't sure because I was reading shoptemp earlier about their flashing service so I had to ask. But since I already know who to flash a micro sd card already it'll be easy.
