Just got it. I can't get it to work. I downloaded 4.18 for it and the Akaio 1.5. Neither seem to be working. Could you help diagnose the problem?

I also just noticed that it works on my DS, but not my DSi. Why is this?

I suspect that your DSi has the dreaded 1.4 firmware. Follow these instructions and all should be well. It worked for me.https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php?topic=21995.0

It has the Akaio 1.5 firmware as the main page. The 4.18 doesn't work

There's no link for the AK2IFW_UPDATE_14_DSI.NDS in the guide

Go to www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds and download the 1.4 DSi update for the Acekard2i there.

    http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/dl.php/AceKard_2i_firmware_v1.4.zip

But, your DSi is already 1.4, so you won't be able to run the update. You need to get a DS Lite or a DSi with 1.3 or lower to run the update.

Yes, it's the only way to make the flashcarts work on the DSi, make the DSi think that it is an actual game card.

i think that if they did that then nintendo would find a way to stop it with this makeing it think that it a game nintendo might not beabel to stop it relly i think that if you are able to use it then use it and not complain
