Hello, my nephews have this laptop that has Windows Vista as the operating system and you can barely play any games in it. My Pentium-4 (XP OS) desktop can do a better job even though the laptop has better specs. I read here and there that VISTA requires a lot memory to perform in a speedy pace. So I was thinking, if i were to change VISTA to maybe WINDOWS 7, will the laptop be able to handle games? please help. by the way, the specs of the laptop are the following.
windows 7 is less resource heavy, yes. However that processor is very slow, and it also depends on what graphics chip the laptop has.
Can you show your rating score, as divided up into performance, gaming, etc. 3.5 is low and it uses the lowest individual score.
Sorry for the late reply... Graphic chip? Can i see that in the device manager? If its low, should i considering to switching to windows XP? I have no idea how to do that? Can you tell me how?
graphics chip will show under 'display adaptors'. if its a crap one like intel then switching to XP won't make a whole lot of difference (that is, it wont allow you to run any more games, but it might help games that do run to run better). If it is an intel then theres nothing you can do really.
One other thing I noticed...You have vista basic. Not that teh OS itself matters so much, but basic usually get packed with cheaper, inferior chips. Still, check your grafx card. If it's NVDIA or ATI you definitely have a chance. If it's intell...sorry man. Lotsa toshibas have intels.
My Toshiba has Intel-and its shit.Poker plays in low resulution and kids games crash all the time. Them Intel cards are at the very bottom of any card....
