Umm, I'm newbie about ISO things so if this is the wrong place to ask then I'm really sorry and I hope then the admin/mod could help to delete this post should it be found inappropriate or such. My question is: What is ISO? Is it the same type of file as ROMs in which if you burn the ISO in a disc then you can play it in your PSX machine (not emulators)? I just gotta ask out of curiousity. ^^a Thank you for your kind help.
ISO is the name give to disk image files made from optical discs. In, this context it is essentially roms for disc based systems.
Oh, I see, so that's what those people are talking about. ^^a Today's technologies are just so.... XD Thank you so much, Loonylion. ^^>
If you have computer games or something like that, you can use a virtual drive to run the ISO. I use Virtual Clone Drive. Works very well for me.
a virtual drive is to mount an iso, so if it is a PC game or a program or something like that you can use daemon tools or virtual clone drive. That way you don't need to burn the image to a CD or DVD. You can't play PC games on a console.
@fabvini: Oh yeah, I think I have one of those type of game, the Yu-Gi-Oh. It wasn't installed in my PC instead I can keep it in my flashdrive and I can play it in any PC from that flashdrive. Is that what it is?
no. A virtual cd drive, or cd drive emulator allows you to 'mount' an ISO file, making it appear to the computer that there is a disc in a cd/dvd drive, when in reality its a file on your hard disk.
