A late introduction, but one nonetheless...

Hello, Bonjour, Hallo, Hej, Moi, こんにちは!
(Just had to show off my language skills, don't pay any mind to that XD)

I joined this community for some time ago. However, I did not really join the forum. I only used my account to get some ROMs and didn't even enter this forum.
Now I finally thought about writing. I have this whole summer to spend. Or maybe not, as I've got job and studies... At least I have this sunny feeling about everything.

I am 19 year old girl from Finland, a country with the average temperature of 4.7 Celsius. (41 Fahrenheit?) I speak Finnish as my native language, but I consider myself quite good in English, Swedish, German and Japanese. I've also been studying some French, with no results whatsoever. I never really figured out, how to pronounce the words correctly. I enjoy studying and as of this summer I have started to prepare for my exams next year. (I think they are something similar to Abitur in German or A-levels in the UK) I'm going to do 8 subjects and then aim to a university to study architecture. It is something that I've been dreaming of for many years, but in where I live, only 7% of the participants get accepted...

Except studying I also enjoy being outdoors and hanging out with friends. I also spend quite a lot of time playing games (PS2, NDS, GBA or PC), mostly RPG or story based ones. I am also a huge fan of Otome-games. (Japanese dating simulation for girls.)

I spent one year as an exchange student in Japan and therefore understand the language (the spoken, written is sometimes too hard) and the culture somewhat. However, I wish to deepen my connection with that particular culture and it's art. (And no, I am NOT talking about anime/manga, although they do have sometimes their artistic points as well.) I also have a loving family there that is important to me on many levels.
The year abroad was one of the biggest decisions of my life so far and not for one day have I regretted it. It changed me a lot, made me more mature in my views (Oh yeah, I truly was sooo childish and naive before) and gave me another perspective to life and people.

I also read quite a lot. Mostly fictive stuff, especially fantasy. My ultimate favorite is probably Harry Potter. Yes, it is cliché, but I've taken it beyond reading the actual book. I and some of my friends tend to have debates about many aspects in the story, its character, and the whole world that Rowling has created. Waste of time? Maybe, but still enjoyable. I've dug myself deep into the folds of fanfiction too.

Movies I enjoy and watch, but mostly there is not that much time. Currently I've got about 20 movies on my watching list, but I can't get myself to really take time off for that. Too addicted to other things that my weird brain considers more interesting.

There, I guess that'll be enough for now.
    And, because I can't resist:

OMG! You know, that is me. On lj, that is.
Google sure is amazing. Or then again, my username is not really popular. Kinda interesting as it consists of two really easy parts.
Ema = the name I used in Japan because it's easier for them to pronounce than my real name.
Tan = like -chan, but for some reason many of my friends called me -tan instead of -chan. They said it just suited me better, lol.
