If you had a laptop or a desktop that came with windows 7 pre-installed, you can make some Factory Restore discs and put the first disc into your disc drive on the computer you want to install Windows 7 onto and you can install it that way and you will have the same software that came with that PC! You will need to activate your license key by phone activation which is free or after 30 days you will have to acivate it. I can confirm that this works with a Packard Bell or Acer as I have tried it with my Packard Bell Recovery discs on an HP DV6 laptop.
most recovery images are bios locked to the machine they came with. You were lucky it worked because it won't usually.
Yeah. I'm gald to have Windows 7 PB edition on my DV6. It's very fast and my desktop came with Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 and now my laptop has it.
