FFX is only on the PS2. Anyway, you could try Valkyrie Profile: Convenant of the Plume. It sounds a bit silly with the voice acting, but if you haven't tried it, it's not a bad strategy game in my opinion.
Maybe you are referring to FF XII-2 Revenant Wing? I got a few games you might want: Fire Emblem Front Mission (Loads of weapon type ) Orcs and Elves Deep Labyrinth Etrian Odyssey Monster Lab (create your own monster to fight. The story isn't that great though but who cares?) You can try this: Time Hollow Jake Detective Jake Detective Chronicles Touch Mechanic (It's about cars but it has the same concept as phoenix wright... somewhat. :|) Trauma Center Lifesign Surgical Unit Enjoy and take it slow...

Customizable characters, uh... From the Abyss Dungeon Explorers (graphic sucks a bit, but it's still enjoyable) Soma Bringer Summon Night Twin Age (i'm disappointed by how easy this is) Knights in the Nightmare ..there's also Fighting Fantasy for DS that looks cool.
