I was downloading a game, and for some reason I lost my internet connection.... so when I was able to resume the download, the game downloaded at around 500-600 kbs. I am not a premium member, so shouldn't I only be able to download at a max. of 150 kbs, or something around that
Most likely your software just count wrongs, it resumes, sees that 1 second has passed and 5 MB downloaded and then counts entirely wrong. It happens with a lot of software.
Indeed, your download bar which shows the ETA and how much downloaded.. isn't downloading it, it's checking the file to see how much you've downloaded. It may appear to be downloading, but it isn't. This happens quite alot on P2P networks such as the gnutella network.
that happens to me alot of time and i made a thread about it long time ago here it is https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php?topic=18889.0 i even got a picture and its 1mb a sec im not premium they said its the firefox
