999: diference between main menu options.

    I have finished the game and was wondering what the difference was between the main menu options "continue" and "begin with memories" and which one is better to use in finding all the endings.

    If you want to go for the best ending,then you must begin with memories.In each play-through you learn various information about the people with you,and to get the best ending [and the safe ending,which is required right before the best ending],you must begin with memories to advance past at least 2 key parts in your final playthrough.
